Abstract:

Under-pressure porous reservoirs like oil and gas depleted fields and aquifers arethe examples of underground storage systems of natural gas, Since estimating thepressure in designing these reservoirs is very important and vital, in this paper, withusing the concept of Brooks, E. et al, a computer program was designed so that gasbubble pressure can be calculated in different areas and in continuous times consideringparameters like reservoir porosity and permeability; on the other hand, theoptimum time for injecting gas to the reservoir can also be achieved concerning itscapabilities. The theoretical principles of this program are presented with the analysisperformed on aquifer of Yort-e-Shah Region. From the results of this study itcan be pointed out that the optimum gas pressure in Yort-e-Shah Region is about۲۲۵۰ psi with safety factor of ۱.۷۵. Taking the leakage in reservoir into account, theoptimum pressure increases to ۳۹۰۰ psi.
