Abstract:

The use of FRP sheets in the improvement of reinforced concrete structures is one of the methods of strengthening buildings against incoming loads, which has grown significantly in recent years, and the main reason for this is the need to increase the service life and improve the basic infrastructure. The use of stainless steel reinforcements as well as reinforcements with FRP plastic fibers is one of these improvement methods that have emerged to strengthen concrete structures and are considered as a suitable substitute for traditional methods such as gluing steel plates, increasing the cross-sectional area with re-concreting and external prestressing. The techniques of using FRP composite materials as external reinforcement have gained special importance due to its unique characteristics. On the other hand, these techniques are particularly attractive due to their quick implementation and low costs.
