Abstract:
One of the strategies for confrontation with natural hazards in different areas is to promote knowledge and awareness about the areas that are exposed to such hazards. This is possible when a natural hazard map is prepared, and high-risk areas are identified based on it. Preparing such maps to manage and reduce the damage and fatalities resulting from those hazards will be necessary. On the other hand, this issue was examined due to the growing importance of remote sensing data and their application in various fields due to cost reduction and increased accuracy and efficiency. In this regard, it is necessary to extract the effective factors that play the role of input parameters for the preparation of hazard maps. In this paper, the need to establish a link between remote sensing data and the preparation of hazard maps is emphasized, and the application of digital elevation model (DEM) in the extraction of input parameters for the preparation of hazard maps in Paveh county, Kermanshah province is discussed.
