Abstract:
In this research, the effect of aluminum silicate and carboxymethyl cellulose adhesives on the propertiesof monolithic alumina-based refractories has been investigated. Also, sodium silicate has been used toimprove the setting time. All samples were fired at three temperatures of ۱۱۰°C, ۱۱۰۰°C and ۱۵۵۰°C.In order to evaluate the desired properties, first the gunning properties of the samples were examined, and then for further investigations cold crushing strength test and the percentage of permanent linearchanges were used. In addition, X-ray diffraction analysis was used to characterize the samples. Theresults of this research showed that the sample containing ۱% aluminum silicate adhesive had theoptimum properties and to reduce the setting time of this sample, in exchange for a slight loss inproperties, ۰.۱% sodium silicate can be used.
