Abstract:

General health culture is a set of conditions and characteristics, whether knowledge, attitude or behavior, whichaffects the quality and quantity of mutual interaction between people and healthcare staff. Apart from scientificand specialized dimensions of a professional communication, these factors are usually important in thesatisfaction of both parties regarding legal, religious, ethical, social, etc. scopes. In this research, we try toexplain the necessity and importance of the "general health culture" and the responsibility of the health staff increating and promoting it.Method: This descriptive study was conducted using available resources on the topic of health culture, mutualrights of health staff and people, factors affecting the quality of health services, etc.,Results: Development and improvement of the public health culture is one of the true responsibilities of thehealthcare staff. Health workers themselves are one of the components of improving the general health cultureof the society. This means that their thoughts, attitude and behavior, especially during service delivery, carrymessages that create and regulate the general culture of health in the society. The establishment of a properpublic health culture leads to public demand, which itself guarantees the correct culture of communication byhealth staff with people based on professional ethics and humanistic values. One of the importantresponsibilities of the related health institutions and organizations such as universities and the medical councilsis to create sensitivity, monitoring and appropriate policies in this regard. Public education of the folk andprofessionals (using the potentials of media and the public or private health service providers), monitoring andcreation of preventive laws are important.Outcome: Every effort that is made to promote the general culture of health will reduce the moral, social,economic, legal, etc. burden and costs that the people and the health staff can impose on each other. The role ofhealth staff in the production and establishment of public health culture is important and undeniable.
