Abstract:

Introduction: The pregnant women are more vulnerable to infections owing to their relativelyweak immune system, and they are more at the risk of serious consequences resulting from thepandemics of the new Covid-۱۹ virus. This study aimed at identify the individual, demographicand clinical characteristics of pregnant women with COVID-۱۹.Method: In this cross-sectional study from ۲۱ March ۲۰۲۰-۲۱ March ۲۰۲۲ all pregnant womenwith COVID-۱۹ who were admitted to healthcare centers in three counties (Mahabad,Miandoab, Bukan ) in Iran were enrolled. Data were collected through medical records usinga researcher-made questionnaire.Results: All pregnant women with COVID-۱۹(۴۸۸) with a mean age (۲۹.۸۸±۶.۳۷) years andBMI (۲۷.۵۱±۴.۸۱) were included. ۷۸.۸% of pregnant women were urban. ۹۳.۵% of them werehousekeeper. Almost ۶۰% of them had below diploma education. ۳۴% of pregnant women withCOVID-۱۹ were at risk of high-risk pregnancy, and ۲۶% suffered underlying diseases. ۳.۳%of pregnant women were infected via health workers with COVID-۱۹. Cough was the mostcommon symptom of the disease (۵۴.۱%).Conclusion: The pregnant women coming from lower socioeconomic classes are highly proneto COVID-۱۹. The results of this study may help to develop guidelines for the development ofmeasures for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pregnant women with covid-۱۹.
