Comparison of weight, cost and durability of composite bipolar plate with graphitic and metallic bipolar plates in PEMFC abstract

In this article one polymer based composite sandwiched by carbon cloth is introduced as composite bipolar plate (BP) of PEMFC. The properties of this composite have been reached to DOE which makes it suitable for BP. The terms of cost, weight and durability are three major factors in BPs that considerably affect on commercialization of PEMFC. In this article, a comparison is made on the mentioned terms, between graphitic, metallic and composite BPs. This comparison reveals the advantages and disadvantages of these materials.
