Abstract:
Electroless NI-P coating have been used in various industries for the last decades, due to theirunique combination of properties such as; good wear and corrosion resistance, low porosity andability to plate on nonconductors. In the present study, various amounts of nano-Zno particleswith average diameter of ۵۰nm were incorporated into NI-P plates. Composite coating wereprepared using hypophosphite reduced electroless Nickel bath. Effect of nano-Zno particlecontent on the hardness and wear resistance of electroless NI-P coating was investigated andcompared with that of the unreinforced NI-P plates. The results indicated that incorporation ofnano-Zno particles resulted in increasing of hardness and wear resistant of the plates. Thedecrease in the metal-metal content surface in the presence of nano-Zno particles was found tobe responsible for the improved wear resistance of the composite coatings.
