An overview of the laws governing in Iran regarding

The prohibition of smoking in public places One of the most effective approaches to control thereduction of smoking in public places is to apply the approved laws of the country related to placesthat supply tobacco, especially hookah. The present study refers to the laws approved on۱۵/۶/۱۳۸۵ in the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its executive regulations regardingthe prohibition of smoking in public places, which are as follows: According to ۳ Article of thislaw, any type of advertisement, support for direct or indirect encouragement, or incitement to usetobacco is strictly prohibited. According to Article ۱۳ of this law, Smoking is prohibited ininstitutions related to the subject of Article ۱۸ of the Administrative Offenses Handling Law, andthe user is liable to pay a fine. ۷ Article of the Executive Regulations of the ComprehensiveNational Tobacco Control and Combat Law, the responsibility is clearly stated, that in order tomaintain public health, especially protection against forced inhalation of smoke caused by tobaccoproducts, the use of these substances in public places is prohibited. According to article ۸ of thisregulation, the managers, employers or operators of the relevant places are responsible for theimplementation of the ban on smoking in public places and other places listed in this law. And inarticle ۹ of the executive regulations of the same law, the operators and officials of public placesare obliged to install warning signs about the prohibition of smoking products in appropriateplaces in public view.
