Abstract:

Heavy metals in the soil refers to some significant heavy metals of biological toxicity, including mercury(Hg), cadmium(Cd), lead(Pb), chromium(Cr), and arsenic(As), etc. with the development of the global economy, both type and content of heavy metals in the soil caused by human activities have gradually increased in recent years, which have resulted in serious environment deterioration. In present study the effect of lead nitrate and cadmium on consolidation parameters of soil in Najmabad industrial town in Alborz province in Iran was investigated. the processing time of contaminated samples was considered to be ۷۲ hours and different concentration of lead and cadmium solution used to contaminate the soil are ۱۰۰۰, ۲۰۰۰ and ۵۰۰۰ ppm. Based on the result by increasing the concentration of lead and cadmium in the clay soil some parameters of soil such as porosity ratio, and swelling decreased.
