Abstract:
Reactor appears to be the heart of the petrochemical industry. One of the main factors affects itsoperation is catalyst. In this regard, catalyst deactivation has been a major problem leading to economicdecline of the process. Hence, it must be investigated in terms of design, regeneration, and lifetimeextension. Modeling deactivation trends provides valuable information during catalyst lifetime, amongstothers, type of deactivation mechanisms, besides mimicking the duration. It also offers usage as anelement of a control toolbox. This article classifies the deactivation trends of catalyst during Fischer-Tropsch process. Moreover, models developed to date, have been compared. Finally, the models applied to some case studies
