Abstract:

The discourse approach explains the relationship between religion and identity in the thought of Imam Khomeini (RA) better than other approaches; But despite this ability, less attention has been paid to it. Considering the mentioned ability, this article tries to use the discourse approach to explain the relationship between religion and identity in the thought of Imam Khomeini (RA). For this purpose, the author first examines the foundations and components of the discourse approach - with a critical look at the general insights common in the humanities and social sciences - and then examines the relationship between religion and identity in the thought of Imam Khomeini (RA) based on intra-discourse and inter-discourse relationships. puts. According to the author, the development of Imam Khomeini's thought was the result of the interaction between religion and identity in the discourse of returning to oneself and confronting the discourse of Westernization. It was as a result of such conditions that Imam Khomeini (RA) returned to himself with the intellectual and practical role of his discourse, set up a political-social confrontation with the western Pahlavi government and achieved the formation of the discourse of returning to himself in the form of the revolution and the Islamic Republic.
