Abstract:
Non-thermal plasma (NTP) reactors are critical equipment in the field of ozone gas production for water ozonation and the oxidation of toxic organic compounds, including organic dyes found in the wastewater of textile industries. In this article, an attempt has been made to provide the relationships for determining the mass transfer coefficient and the rate constant of ozone decomposition for the two modes of water ozonation using a membrane and alone in order to design, build, and buy a desired NTP reactor with the highest efficiency. Moreover, a mathematical relationship has been presented to determine the ratio of the molecular share of ozone to free radicals produced for the destruction of organic compounds (organic color).
