A review on synthesis and characterization of starch-based Janus graphene oxide nanosheets abstract
Industrial developments in present world, has caused a vital global concern particularly about environment and water sources. Hence, the use of polymeric membranes in different separation and purification processes has been paid attention by the world. Therefore, fabricating membranes having high separation performance and efficiency is an important task. Employing suitable additives in the membrane matrix is one of the approaches to enhance the membrane performance. In this study, the starch-based method of synthesizing Janus graphene oxide (JGO) nanosheets was reviewed in details as well as considering the review of several important evaluations such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), water contact angle (WCA) measurement, transmission electron microscopy-Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (TEM-EDS) mapping and Raman spectrum. The results have shown that the environment-friendly starch-based method is able to be effectively employed in order to synthesize JGO nanosheets.
