An Experimental Study and Kinetic Modeling of Wheat Drying abstract
In this study, a drying kinetics model is presented for predicting the drying of wheat particles. For this aim, Thin layer drying of wheat particles were studied for temperature range of 30–60oC, inlet air humidity of 0.004–0.01 kg/kg dry air, and inlet air flow rate of 3–10 m3/h. The results showed that the rate of drying enhances by increasing inlet air temperature and air flow rate. An empirical conceptually defined kinetic model was proposed and examined using the obtained experimental data. The proposed model is in good agreement with corresponding experimental data. The minimum, the mean, and the maximum absolute errors for proposed model are 3.4, 7.2, and 11.5%, respectively.
