Tetracycline-loaded GelMA microparticles possessing proper uniformityand stability abstract

Polypeptides and other natural polymers are increasingly being used in medicine for drug delivery, tissueengineering, and wound dressing due to their biocompatibility and ability to stimulate cellular biologicalfunctions. However, their applications are limited by their inappropriate water solubility and instability inbilogical environment. Furthermore, their tendency for degradation and denaturation in intense conditionslimits the available processing techniques inorder to produce nano/micro particles from these material. Inthe present study, stable and uniform microparticles of Tetracycline-loaded gelatin methacryloyl(GelMA) were synthesized by a facile water-in-oil technique and subsequent exposure to UV radiation.The prepared particles were followingly characterized by scanning electron microscopy and Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy.
