Abstract:

Food insecurity is one of the factors that pose serious risks to the national security of a country. Food security is the concept of access to sufficient food in the present and future, and it has been challenged by the rapid population growth of societies, including Iran, in recent years. Iran has a lot of capabilities and fisheries resources that can be used to ensure the country's food security. Iran's population increases every year, and the country needs more food to feed all the people of the society, due to this, the need for a comprehensive and more accurate plan and more optimal use of fisheries and aquatic resources in the whole country is strongly felt.According to global statistics, aquatic animals provide more than twenty-five percent of the world's animal protein, and now approximately one billion two hundred and fifty million people in about forty countries only feed on aquatic animals. Food security, the amount of sufficient food, is defined by taking into account the energy requirements for human daily life activities, but this amount has differences in different people compared to each other, in such a way that it is calculated based on the indicators of age, body weight and the effects of these two indicators on each other. Developing countries are more dependent on seafood in the daily food basket than developed countries, but developed countries have adjusted their nutritional strategies to increase production and aquatic products, and in this case, the issue of food health, its quality, environmental protection andthey have also supported living beings. Among the food items, red meat and white meat, chicken, fish, and aquatic animals are very important in the field of food security, and now, an important part of the food security of the people of the world, especially in coastal and developing countries, is the responsibility of aquatic animals.
