Subsidence risk zoning based on effective criteria using a multi-criteria decision-making technique abstract

The subsidence phenomenon is one of the crises that can occur at a low speed, but it can cause much damage. In this study, expert opinions related to this issue have been used to investigate the effect of different criteria on subsidence. Then the weight of each criterion was obtained using the geometric mean method. Also, the ranking done for the sub-criteria related to each layer, and the weight associated to each sub-layer obtained using the rank weighting method. To fusion different layers, the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method used, and as a result, a subsidence risk zoning map prepared. According to the obtained results, the central and northern areas of Varamin, Qarchak and Pishva have a higher potential for subsidence, and the southern regions, bare land use and salt flat soil type, have a lower risk of occurrence.
