Abstract:

Nursing care plays a vital role in improving patient outcomes and ensuring the provision of high-quality health services. In recent years, technology-enhanced educational interventions have attracted more attention as potential tools to improve nursing care practices(۱). This systematic review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of these interventions in increasing nursing care results and quality.(۲) A comprehensive search of various information sources including PubMed, CINAHL and Scopus electronic databases was conducted from the beginning of each database until the recent days.(۳) Studies that examined the impact of technology-enhanced educational interventions on nursing care, patient safety, clinical skills, and patient outcomes were included. Articles that are not related to the predetermined conditions were excluded from the scope of the review.(۳,۴,۵) This review identified a total of ۳۰ studies related to the selection criteria. These studies used various educational technologies such as simulation training, virtual reality, gaming, and mobile applications to improve nursing education and skills.(۴,۵) The results showed that educational interventions enhanced with technology had encouraging effects in improving nursing care methods, including better clinical decision-making, increased awareness of patient safety, and overall improvement of patient outcomes.(۵) However, the review also highlighted the need for more research to examine the long-term impact of these interventions on nursing care and optimal strategies for integrating technology into nursing education.(۶) In addition, some studies reported implementation challenges and the need for adapted training programs to maximize the effectiveness of technology-enhanced interventions.(۷) As a result, technology-enhanced educational interventions have the potential to improve nursing care practices and patient outcomes. As technology advances, healthcare institutions should carefully consider integrating these interventions into their nursing education programs to enhance the delivery of nursing care and ultimately improve patient outcomes.(۱,۸).
