Abstract:

Applying anaesthetic agent is recommended in aquaculture during fish handling specially tagging. However, it should be noted that anaesthesia itself is likely to induce stressful condition due to its improper and high concentration. In this study, we selected ۳ anaesthetics, Nano emulsions of clove oil (NLC), Nano emulsions lemonbeeprush-clove oil (NLBC) and Tricaine Methane sulfonate (MS), to test the efficacy in anesthetization of rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss. The experiments were done by ۱۲۰ fish with average weight ۵۰ ± ۱۲ g. The fish were divided into ۳ treatments (each consisting of ۱۰ fish). ۳ treatments with ۳ replicates were exposed to NBLC and NCL with ۱۰ mg L-۱ concentrations and MS with ۱۰ mg L-۱ by immersion method. The time of each sedation anaesthetics and recovery stages were ۲۴ hours. Our experiment results show that NBL (lemonbeeprush+Clove Nano Essentials Oil) can significantly increase oxygen and reduce ammonia concentration compared to the control (p<۰.۰۵). Some metabolic factors (urea-sodium-potassium) were significantly between different experimental and control, as their highest was obtained in control. The result of this experiment clearly indicated that, NCL had a less time of sedation anaesthetics to others, without any mortality. We revealed, a briefly compares of Nano emulsions to MS in this study.
