Abstract:

Bioaccumulation Capacity of Heavy metals in aquatic bodies can do a serious threat to food security and public health. Therefore, this study aimed to measure the amount of cadmium in different body weight of Alosa kessleri living in the Caspian Sea. Firstly, samples were collected in three different sizes and after cutting muscle tissues to ۱۰ g, digestion method took place and cadmium measurement carried out using voltammetry method. The results showed that an increase in cadmium with body weight was observed but statistical comparison the differences were not significant (p>۰.۰۵). Cadmium amount of this species in the current study is lower than the WHO's standards for human consumption.
