Corrosion of the steel embedded inconcrete plays a vital role in determinationof life and durability of the concretestructures. Assessment of corrosion stateusing the well-known and usually adaptedpotential mapping technique leads to somemisinterpretation especially in structureswhich is placed in wet and anaerobicenvironment. In order to avoid theseproblems, additional polarization techniquehas been introduced. The galvanostaticpulse technique is now successfullyapplied on site. In this study,measurements have been performed ondifferent foundations of transmissionelectrical towers at Hormozgan region forthe first time in Iran.The results of thesemeasurements are presented and shownthat it is possible to detect the corrosionstate while the Half-Cell potential isdifficult to interpret.
