The circulating current and internal fault analysis between strands in stator winding of a turbo-generator using the analytical model abstract
In turbo-generators to minimize the circulating current, the strands of stator winding are transposed along with the core length. We have used an analytical modelto calculate the strands circulating current distribution for the different transpositions. Then, based on this analytical model, wehave proposed an improved analyticalmodel to analyze the internal fault between strands for any transposition. The analytical model design is involved the 2D modeling of the slot region and the 3D modeling of end winding region to calculate the strands inductance. Finally, in healthy and fault conditions, the results of circulating current and the fault branch current are compared for the different transpositions, respectively.
