Abstract:

In this work, the SrFe12O19 and SrFe11Ti0.5Zn0.5O19 nanoparticles have been synthesized using chlorides via co-precipitation and sol-gel methods. The phase, morphology, particle size and chemical composition of samples were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM)and EDS respectively. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the strontium hexaferrite with Ti and Zn substitutions, still remains in a hexagonal magnetoplumbite phase. Although in doped sample prepared by sol-gel process, some amounts of α-Fe2O3 was detected. According to the FTIR spectra, the absorption bands in the range of 400-700 cm-1 confirms the presence of M–O stretching band in ferrites. SEM microstructures observation indicated smaller nanoparticles size was achieved from co-precipitation in comparison with sol-gel method
