PyADM1-R2: A Python-Based Model for Simulating Intermediates in Anaerobic Digestion Using a Simplified ADM1 Approach abstract

Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a pivotal process addressing the challenges of organic waste disposal and renewable energy generation. This paper highlights the significance of AD in mitigating environmental concerns posed by organic waste and emphasizes its role in biogas production. As global climate awareness grows, the demand for biogas escalates, evident in the proliferation of biogas plants. Models, such as Anaerobic Digestion Model number 1 (ADM1), aid in understanding and optimizing AD. However, complex models like ADM1 necessitate computational resources and commercial software. We introduce "PyADM1-R2," a Python-based implementation of the simplified ADM1-R2 model. Python's popularity and scientific libraries make PyADM1-R2 accessible to an exhaustive researcher and engineer base. This tool bridges the gap between complex and simplified models, contributing to waste management, renewable energy research, and sustainable practices
