Ranking of Iran provinces based on environmental indicators using Shannon -VIKOR, Numerical Taxonomy and Shannon-SAW abstract
Environmental quality is one of the important goals of governments in any country and it is one of the dimensions of sustainable development. Several indicators can measure environmental status. Iran is also looking to achieve the best environmental status. This research uses the multi criteria decision-making methods to determine the environmental status of selected provinces of Iran. Shannon Entropy; SAW; Numerical taxonomy and VIKOR techniques have been used to achieve the research objectives. The results showed that the most important criterion among the selected criteria is the share of grassland that can improve the environmental status of the provinces. In the following, the results of the ranking of provinces indicated that it is not the same in three technique. Gilan province has best score in SAW and Numerical Taxonomy methods. Bushehr province has best in VIKOR producer environmentally.
