Identifying the success factors of construction projects (Case study: underground parking project of Azadi Mashhad)

Identifying the success factors of construction projects is one of the most important issues in project management. Lack of sufficient knowledge of success factors overburdens the control, monitoring, and implementation of projects. Identifying project success factors can indeed provide a solid framework for analyzing project deliverables. Also, recognizing the success factors helps to allocate resources appropriately. The main purpose of this study is to identify and rank critical success factors influencing the implementation of underground parking in Azadi Mashhad. Information collection is done through a literature review and the opinions of experts. A questionnaire is made using Likert’s five-choice. The statistical population is employers and engineers working on the underground parking project, selected using the Morgan table. Critical success factors are categorized into four groups; External factors, Project aspects, Project manager team, and the contractor. Evaluation and ranking are done by SPSS, both in each group and overall. After performing a detailed analysis, findings suggested that the most important factor is "Sufficient budget and resources" from the ”Project aspects” with a mean rank of ۱۹.۳۰. “Easily and effectively Sharing knowledge within the project management team” from the “Project manager team”, has the least importance with a mean rank of ۱۰.۴۳.
