Abstract:

Introduction: As people age, the incidence of diabetes increases. Given that hemoglobin glycosylated (HbA۱C) shows us blood glucose over the past ۸-۱۲ weeks, and a standard Criterion for long-term control of blood sugar. This systematic review was conducted to determine interventions affecting the level of HbA۱C in elderly patients with diabetes.Material and methods: The present study is a systematic review study that were searched articles on search engines and databases e.g. Magiran, SID, Scopus, Embase, Science direct, Google Scholar, and PubMed in English and Persian using keywords Hemoglobin glycosylated, Diabetes, HbA۱C and elderly. Published articles in the last ۲۵ years about the interventions influencing the level of HbA۱C in elderly diabetic patients were entered. In the first stage, ۴۰ articles were found. Of these, ۱۱ articles related to the topic. Results: The results of various studies showed that the national diabetes prevention and control program, intermittent aerobic exercise, treatment based on acceptance and commitment and reality therapy, endurance exercise with different intensities, group cognitive behavioral therapy and self-efficacy training have a positive effect on improving the HbA۱C level of elderly diabetic patients. Self-managed program leads to improved blood glucose levels and decreased HbA۱C levels in elderly patients with diabetes. Conclusion: The results of the studies showed various interventions have been effective on HbA۱C in elderly diabetics. It is necessary to use these interventions to improve the level of HbA۱C in elderly people with diabetes.
