Abstract:

The family is the first headstock of basic emotional and social experiences for every person and can be studied as the origin of a person's perception of himself and his lifestyle. This issue is especially important due to the background factors of the tendency to harm such as drugs for young people. Therefore, the current research has studied the phenomenological study of the emotional atmosphere of the family in the addiction tendency. The research was conducted in a qualitative and phenomenological approach. The participants were ۳۰ young people suffering from addiction in the addiction treatment complex (Yaran Camp in Yazd City) who were selected using a purposive method based on the principle of saturation. The data collection tool in this research was a semi-structured interview. All the interviews were processed based on Strauss and Glaser's approach and in the way of interpretative analysis, and the findings of the research were in five dimensions: ۱. Defective attachment structure in the family, ۲. Ineffective parenting style, ۳. Identification with addicted parents, ۴. Conflicts and communication problems of parents, ۵. Disorganized family system was classified. The findings were explained according to the theoretical approach of Adler's individual psychology, and based on that, it can be said that the family is one of the influential factors in a person's tendency to addiction. Defective emotional atmosphere, unfavorable economic situation, conflicts between parents and lack of security have led to a feeling of repeated failure and according to Adler's approach to individual psychology, it leads to a lifestyle full of inferiority complex. This issue has led to addiction for the participants with three types of misbehavior (seeking attention, showing power and revenge).
