Abstract:
The aim of the current research was to examine the relationship between emotion regulation difficulties and marital distress among married women in Isfahan. The study population consisted of all married women in Isfahan in the year ۲۰۲۳. One hundred participants were selected through convenience sampling based on specific criteria. Data were collected using the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) by Gratz and Roemer (۲۰۰۴) and the Marital Distress Questionnaire by Pines (۱۹۹۶). According to the findings obtained through correlation and simultaneous regression analysis, there is a significant and positive relationship between emotion regulation difficulties and marital distress, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of ۰.۵۷ and a significance level of ۰.۰۰۰۱. These findings can be utilized in educational programs for married individuals, as well as by psychologists and counselors, to increase awareness and reduce the likelihood of cognitive, psychological, and marital problems and conflicts among them.
