Research on the causes of use pigging operation in oil and gas lines

Pipelines are an important means of transportation for oil, natural gas and various petroleum products.To meet such a large demand for oil and gas, safe and reliable pipeline transportation is required. The pigging process is a routine pipeline operation that removes the liquid and impurities in the pipeline to ensure the efficient and safe transmission of natural gas. The purpose of this research is to know the reasons for using the pigging process in oil and gas lines. The current research was conducted as a review study using domestic and foreign sources, texts and articles. In this research, the importance of using pig running operations and the introduction of different types of pigs used in the oil and gas industries have been discussed.
