Designing the Modeling of the Facade of A Building Using Python Programming With the Approach of Increasing Energy Efficiency abstract

Because solar radiation is dynamic, improving the facade form factors can be difficult when trying to maximize energy efficiency in buildings. Using kinetic facades as a second skin to regulate energy use is one practical way to do this. In order to improve building energy efficiency, this study suggests a parametric kinetic facade in addition to a framework for shape optimization utilizing the Bang-Big Crunch (BB-BC) optimization method. In this study, a two-story office building in Shiraz was modeled, and the energy consumption that resulted from operating the structure for three days—without taking into account the facade's second skin—was calculated. The second skin was calculated as a parametric, static facade in the study's second stage, and it was optimized for the same three-day period. Assuming daily kinematic changes, the second skin's parameters were optimized for three one-day intervals in the final step. After that, the building's overall energy usage for the three days of operation was computed and examined.The optimization technique was created using the Python programming language, and the modeling and simulation of light, energy, and weather parameters was done using Rhino software and the Grasshopper, Ladybug, and Honeybee plugins. The study's findings show how well the suggested kinetic facade works and how well the suggested algorithm works when dealing with issues of a similar nature. According to the study, using a second skin with kinetic function cut down on energy usage by 28%. Furthermore, the study's second and third phase results demonstrated that using the second facade shell's kinematic function instead of its static mode reduced energy usage by 4%.Overall, the study emphasizes how dynamic elements like solar radiation should be taken into account when optimizing building design and how kinetic facades can be used to reduce energy consumption in buildings.
