Design and Simulation of Reconfigurable Logic Circuit Based on CNTFET by Implementing Various Logical Functions abstract

In this paper, a reconfigurable logic circuit based on Carbon Nanotube Field Effect Transistor (CNTFET) is presented which can implement 7 different logical functions. The logical functions that can be provided by the proposed structure by changing the control signals are: NAND, NOR, AND, OR, XOR, XNOR and NOT. The whole structure of the proposed reconfigurable logic circuit can be implemented with 44 transistors. The proposed design based on CNTFET was simulated using HSPICE simulator tool. In the supply voltages of 0.8, 0.65 and 0.5 V and at the frequency of 100 MHz with the load capacitor of 2.1 fF which are placed in the output of the proposed design and also at the same three mentioned voltages and at the frequency of 250 MHz with the load capacitor 3.5 fF, the proposed CNTFET-based design was simulated. With a supply voltage of 0.5 V and a frequency of 250 MHz, the maximum propagation delay, average power consumption, and power delay product (PDP) of the proposed design were obtained 215.69 ps, 47 nW, and 9.318 aJ, respectively. By performing different analyses, such as changing the output capacitor load, changing the frequency and changing the ambient temperature, the performance of the proposed design was evaluated in different situations.
