Abstract:
In this work, we used silicon dioxide (SiO۲) boxes under the CIGS layer as rear-passivation and silver as
rear contact to improve solar cell efficiency. Silver at the back contact generates a strong junction electric
field, facilitating the movement of liberated carriers to electrodes and significantly increasing photocurrent.
The efficiency of proposed solar cell is ۱۹.۳۸% which is ۲% better than conventional cell. The short circuit
current density (Jsc) of the proposed solar cell has improved by ۴۰% compared to a conventional CIGS
solar cell and therefore the performance of the proposed CIGS solar has been improved.
