Abstract:

Aloe vera has received a lot of attention in the cosmetic industry due to its therapeutic properties and multi-purpose applications. This review article provides a brief analysis of the chemical composition, beneficial properties, specific applications in various cosmetic products, and formulation challenges associated with Aloe vera gel-based cosmetics. Aloe vera gel is rich in bioactive compounds including polysaccharides, phenolic compounds, vitamins, enzymes and minerals that contribute to its therapeutic effects. These compounds have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, moisturizing and wound healing properties, making Aloe vera gel suitable for skin care, hair care, oral care, makeup and body care products. In skin care formulations, Aaloe vera gel is included in moisturizers, cleansers, toners, face masks, and serums to provide moisture, soothing, and rejuvenating effects on the skin. In addition, it is used in hair care products such as shampoos, conditioners and scalp treatments and provides the benefits of nourishing, hydrating and soothing the scalp. Despite the advantages of Aloe vera gel, formulating cosmetics with it presents challenges in terms of preservation, stability, formulation compatibility, and quality control. Preservation methods and packaging strategies must be carefully implemented to maintain the stability and efficacy of Aloe vera gel in cosmetic formulations. In short, it should be said that there is a clear perspective of developing innovative and sustainable cosmetics based on Aloe vera gel that can meet the demand for natural and effective beauty products in the highest quality.
