Abstract:
Today, the decrease in rainfall and the continuation of droughts have increased soil salinitywhich is the main factor in soil alkalinity. In this research, the effect of pretreatment ofseeds with selenium dioxide (SeO۲) have been examined on some biochemical parametersincluding hydrogen peroxide (H۲O۲), malondialdehyde (MDA) and proline in mung beanplant under alkaline stress (pH=۹). The results showed that alkaline stress increased allthese parameters in mungo bean plants. Plants primed with SeO۲ showed lower amountsof MDA, proline and H۲O۲, compared to non-primed plants, indicating the ameliorativerole of SeO۲ under alkaline stress. The donor has promoted the plant's defense mechanismand increased the plant's resistance against alkaline stress.
