Production of fresh drinking water from grayb. using the process “BACF” Bio Active CarbonFilter

The world is facing a crisis of water scarcity and available raw watersources In order to produce drinking water. One of the sources used isgray water, by using this source and its purification, this problem cantackled. Grey water comprises all the flows except for the exit from toilets(faecal sewage, which is called black water) from normal activities such aslaundry, dishes and bathing, in this research, the new method of BACF"Bio Active Carbon FIilter" is investigated. “which improves the quality ofwater to enter the conventional system of the water purification unit suchas "RO". It can reduce the pre-treatment units which are design to increasethe raw water quality which enters to reverse osmosis system. Biologicalactivated carbon (BAC) filters can be used to remove residual total organiccarbon (TOC) from greywater. The two main TOC removal processes areadsorption to the granular activated carbon (GAC) and biologicaldegradation.
