Abstract:

This study was conducted with the aim of modeling structural equations for predicting Internet addiction based on anxious attachment: the mediating effects of psychological loneliness in secondary school female students. The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population included all female students of the second secondary level with the age range of ۱۵ to ۱۷ years in district one of Tehran city with a volume of ۵۳ schools, which were selected by sampling method. Random cluster sampling and with the help of Cochran's formula, ۲۶۳ people were selected as a sample and applied to Internet Addiction Questionnaire ( IAT ) Yang ( ۱۹۹۸ ), Johnson and Webster's Dark Triangle Questionnaire ( ۲۰۱۰ ), Besharat Adult Attachment Style Questionnaire ( AAI ) ( ۱۹۸۷ ) (and Russell, Pilova and Cortona's Psychological Loneliness Questionnaire ( ۱۹۸۰ ) answered). The obtained data were analyzed by the statistical method of path analysis of structural equations. The findings showed that the variable of anxious attachment style with coefficient ( β = ۰.۲۹ ) and psychological loneliness (β = ۰.۴۱ ) has a significant effect on internet addiction . Anxious attachment style ( β = ۰.۳۱ ) has a significant positive effect on psychological loneliness. Also, the results showed that psychological loneliness was able to act as a mediating variable. The results of this study, emphasizing the effect of anxious attachment and psychological loneliness on students' internet addiction, can provide practical implications for improving the mental health of these people.
