Design and Simulation of a 2MW DFIG for Wind Turbine Applications abstract
The current paper presents an in-depth electromagnetic design algorithm for a 2MW/4-pole/690v doubly fed induction generator. The design process consists ofdetermination of rotor and stator cores main dimensions along with winding patterns in both stator and rotor [1-2]. To evaluate the design algorithm, anappropriate 2D model is made and analyzed in finite elements tool. Several characteristics are then calculated by FEM model such asmagnetic flux density in stator/rotor yokes, teeth and the air gap. In addition, some external electrical characteristics (eg. voltage,current, etc) are extracted
