Synthesis of berberine nanomicelle by film hydration method andcharacterization abstract

A fast, green, and simple synthesis method was used to prepare BBR-NMs. An aqueous mixture of 0.5% w/wBBR, and 49.5% polysorbate with a small amount of methanol was vortexed for over 2 h to form a solid thinfilm. Methanol was then removed by rotary evaporation under reduced pressure. The obtained thin film washydrated using doubled distilled water by 50% (w/w) at 50-55 °C (under bain-marie). The mixture was stirreduntil a relatively clear solution was obtained. Subsequently, the solution was centrifuged at 14400 rpm for 20min. The supernatant phase was then filtered by amicon centrifugal filter (3000) to remove excess BBR. Thefiltered solution was stored at 4oC for further uses. The prepared BBR-NMs were then characterized using dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electronmicroscopy (TEM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).Result: Encapsulation efficacy of prepared BBR-NM was measured 79% according to spectrophotometerassay results with a diameter of ~100 nm
