The effect of 8 weeks of high-intensity interval training and sesame seed supplementation on serum levels of omentin-1 and CTRP-1 in overweight men in Tehran abstract

The effect of 8 weeks of high-intensity interval training and sesame seed supplement on the serum levels of omentin-1 and CTRP-1 in overweight men in Tehran, this research was a semi-experimental type with four groups and as a pre-test and It was a post-exam. Methodology: The statistical population of 28 of them were randomly selected and randomly divided into 4 groups: 1: control, 2: intermittent exercise, 3: intermittent exercise + sesame seeds, 4: sesame seeds. The exercise protocol included intense intermittent running exercises for 8 weeks and 3 sessions each week, each session lasting 45 to 60 minutes. The supplement group consumed 50 grams of sesame seed powder daily and the placebo group consumed capsules containing two grams of dextrose. To analyze the data, ANOVA with 2*2 repeated measures was used. Findings: The results showed that the levels of omentin-1 and CTRP-1 changed significantly (p<0.05). Conclusion: Although according to the effect of sesame seed supplement on the levels of omentin-1 and CTRP1 in thepresent study following high-intensity interval training, more studies with different doses of this supplement are needed to prove the effects of weight loss and fat percentage reduction.
