Ethical Considerations for Administrative Responsibility in Public Sector abstract
Responsibility plays a crucial role in the realm of public administration ethics. It has been a foundational principle since the inception of public administration as a profession and academic discipline. The concept of administrative responsibility serves as a link between administrative ethics and broader inquiries into the appropriate conduct and role of unelected officials within a democratic system. Over the past two decades, the explicit and implicit considerations of responsibility have remained significant in shaping the ongoing development of ethics in the public sector. This, in turn, provides a normative and descriptive foundation for exploring more specific topics, such as corruption, governance integrity, public values, and social equity, in a comprehensive and unbiased manner.
