Deep Eutectic Solvents (DESs) Based on Choline Chloride as a Green Solvent and Catalyst in the Synthesis of Organic Compounds abstract
Green solvents are biocompatible chemical solvents used in green chemistry. Green catalyst has the potential to catalyze various organic reactions and is therefore a necessary alternative to environmentally unsafe chemical mechanisms. Recently, chemists have become motivated to search for cleaner, safer, and more environmentally friendly compounds. In this context, ionic liquids have attracted much attention and are used in many organic reactions. For this reason, a new class of ionic liquids called deep eutectic solvents has been defined. The scope of application of deep eutectic solvents is vast. But in this small review, we aim to introduce deep eutectic solvents based on choline chloride, where choline chloride acts as a hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) and interacts with various hydrogen bond donors (HBD) such as urea, carboxylic acids, p-Toluene sulfonic acid is combined. Our focus has been on DESs based on choline chloride in the aza-Michael reaction, ortho-arylation, Friedlander reaction, and other chemical reactions to prepare chemical compounds in the last 10 years.
