Integrating Artificial Intelligence-Based ChatGPT in EFL Writing Skill:Pitfalls and Potentials abstract

In recent years, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into language learning has gainedmomentum, with ChatGPT becoming one of the most widely used tools in this field. However, theincorporation of such tools into language classes, especially in English as a Foreign Language(EFL) writing courses, presents certain challenges [1]. Its ability to process information from textinputs can diminish the originality of students' work, leading to a lack of creativity. ChatGPT’sproficiency in understanding human language enables it to produce creative content, such aspoems, short stories, and novels, often comparable in quality to human writing [2]. This articleaims to explore the impact of the ChatGPT system on students' creative writing skills, utilizingqualitative methods and library research to analyze relevant scientific journals and articles.
