Selective Sequential Memetic Algorithms and the Impact of Local Searchers

Memetic Algorithms (MA) have revealed a good performance in resolving optimization matters and decision-making. Because of its major influence on algorithm results, selection of local searchers is one of the critical issues in these algorithms. Periodicity, depth and frequency of local search are three impressive parameters on performance of memetic algorithms, and this fact is bedrock of our proposal of Selective Sequential Memetic Algorithm, which is based on sequential genetic algorithm and guided selection of chromosomes. Computational time and optimum responses of this algorithm along with even, annealing guided elitism memetic algorithm are discussed on Ackley optimization function.
