Analysis Of Types Of Cast Iron And Review Of Gray Cast Iron And Its Types abstract
Cast irons are a large and diverse family of ferrous alloys whose main alloying elements include iron, carbon and silicon, and other elements such as manganese, phosphorus and sulfur in their composition. there is Along with cast irons, steels are also iron-based alloys that have less carbon and silicon in their composition. Gray cast iron or cast iron with sheet graphite is the most important and one of the most widely used engineering alloys. Their name is derived from their gray fracture cross-section, and they are also known as ordinary cast iron in the industry and market. The properties of these cast irons depend on the size, quantity and distribution of graphites as well as the structure of the background, which in turn is determined by the amount of carbon, silicon and equivalent carbon through the formula C.E.%=%C+⅓(%Si+% P) as well as minor amounts of alloying elements depend on process variables such as melting method, nucleation operation and cooling rate. In general, these cast irons have a high thermal conductivity coefficient, elastic modulus, low thermal shock tolerance, and easy machinability so that their finished machining surface is also resistant to sliding wear. In this article, gray cast iron is The robustness has been investigated
