Analyzing Tehran Metro Progress by Examining Fleet and Performance Indicators abstract
Metro systems have efficiently met people's transportation needs both economically and environmentally for over 150 years. Renowned for their high speed, capacity, and safety, metros enhance various aspects of urban life and address transportation and environmental challenges. As urban populations expand, the demand for efficient public transportation becomes increasingly crucial. Metros are among the most popular modes due to their ability to transport large numbers of passengers per trip, combined with their safety, speed, and minimal disruption to urban landscapes. Currently, rail public transportation, particularly in metros, is gaining significant attention in cities. This article also explores the progress of Tehran's metro from 1393 to 1402. To assess this progress, key factors such as the length of rail tracks in use, the number of operational stations, the number of fleets and trains, the time interval between metro trains (headway), and the number of trips made by the metro have been analyzed. The findings indicate significant growth in the Tehran metro over the past decade and the progress of Tehran's metro from 1393 to 1402 highlights the importance of investing in public transportation infrastructure. It serves as a model for other cities aiming to address similar urban challenges, demonstrating that with strategic planning and investment, metros can significantly improve the quality of urban life.
