Review of the Ministry of Education's Role in Tourism Industry Development abstract
Education serves as one of the key tools in the cultural and economic development of countries and plays an essential role in the growth of the tourism industry. The aim of this article is to examine the Ministry of
Education role on the development of the tourism industry. To conduct this research, library methods and a review of previous studies were employed. The review results highlight that effective education in schools can contribute to promoting a tourism culture and increasing public awareness of tourism attractions. Tourism-related education at various academic levels fosters interest and awareness from a young age and, in rural and indigenous areas, can aid in tourism development and create economic opportunities. Training specialized human resources through dedicated and professional educational courses also plays a crucial role. Environmental education in schools helps promote sustainable tourism and protect the environment. Introducing cultural heritage to children and adolescents, with teachers as key influencers, along with field trips and educational tours, enhances tourism knowledge and improves the infrastructure of the tourism industry. However, challenges such as a lack of resources and the misalignment of educational programs persist, requiring attention and reform. Improving the role of education in tourism development necessitates strengthening educational programs, enhancing infrastructure, and leveraging international experiences. By implementing these suggestions, the tourism industry can be enhanced, and the country's cultural and natural heritage can be preserved.
