Investigating the role of ecotourism resorts in the development of rural tourism abstract
Eco-tourism lodges, as one of the key tools in rural tourism development, play an important role in strengthening the local economy, creating employment, preserving local culture, and promoting environmental sustainability. This study aimed to investigate the role of eco-tourism lodges in rural tourism development and used library methodology to collect and analyze data. Library methodology included the study and analysis of reliable scientific sources such as articles, specialized books, statistical reports, and related documents. This approach allowed for a comprehensive examination of the impacts of eco-tourism lodges from various economic, social, and environmental aspects. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to provide an overall picture of the role and importance of eco-tourism lodges in rural development. The findings show that eco-tourism lodges help improve the economic conditions of rural communities by attracting domestic and foreign tourists, increasing local incomes, and reducing dependence on traditional agriculture. In the social dimension, these lodges prevent rural migration to cities and lead to social sustainability by creating job opportunities, strengthening cultural identity and reviving indigenous customs. From an environmental perspective, ecotourism lodges take steps to protect natural resources and promote sustainable tourism practices. However, the successful development of these lodges requires attention to challenges such as lack of infrastructure, weak investment and lack of local awareness of the principles of sustainable tourism. The findings emphasize that effective management of ecotourism lodges requires careful planning, training of residents and benefiting from international experiences. This study concludes that ecotourism lodges can act as a tool for sustainable rural development, provided that interaction between government institutions, non-profit organizations and local communities is strengthened. The suggestions presented can guide policymakers and managers in improving the performance of these lodges.
