Exploring the Potential and Challenges of Electric Vehicles (EVs) Air Pollution of the Transport Sector: A Review abstract

To address global climate change, transitioning towards sustainable mobility is among the most comprehensive strategies. Decarbonizing the transport sector through the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) represents an environmentally sound and efficient solution. While EV charging stations primarily rely on grid electricity, they can be supplemented or replaced by solar photovoltaic systems. Widespread adoption of EVs hinges on advancements in technology and robust governmental support. However, the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction potential of EVs remains contentious, especially when the electricity required for charging is derived from fossil fuel-based energy sources
